Hello,
I recently found my car was sucking air in with fuel causing it to not run properly, stalling and such. It did it only on hard pulls then got worse and worse. I found out my fuel filter was loose, Now after removing fuel filter and filter not having barely any fuel in it i filled it with fuel, cracked the lines at the injectors and started cranking. Is there an easy way to get the air out of the lines so i can get this thing running again? Wish it had a primer.
Any Help is appreciated, Thanks!

The easiest way to prime one of these diesels is to fill the fuel filter like you did, then remove the banjo bolt on the pump for the return line and fill the pump with fuel. Crack the lines to all the injectors just a little and crank the engine till fuel leaks out of each line and then tighten them up and start the engine. It will stumble for a little but bleed itself in short time, assuming there are no leaks in the system. Make sure the wire to the fuel shutoff solenoid on the pump is connected while you are cranking with the injector lines cracked, lots of people pull the wire so the car won't start doing this but no fuel will go to the injectors, the engine wont start anyway because there won't be enough pressure to pop the injector if it's loose enough to watch for the fuel to dribble from them. The air in the system anywhere will bleed itself as long as there are no places to enter in the first place.
What year is your car?
If possible, to save your starter have someone pull start you
car is an 83 rabbit, So prettyy much pull sart to get the air out and fuel in ya?

got it running this morning. took off the return line cracked my injectors. got my little shop vac and put on top of the return of the pump and cranked. it drew all the air out. put it all back together and it fired about 5 cranks after.
