85 jetta build
« on: February 19, 2009, 12:17:42 am »
So I got bored the other day and decided to start working on my '85 Jetta that's been sitting out in the woods. I wanted to document the process of turning this from parts car to custom car (on a super-tight budget). I was hoping to get some feedback while I work. Let me know what you think!

cheers!

thanks for the reply's. this is really the first body work I have done... all because I got bored and had a jetta sitting around. hope to get some more work done this weekend and get some pics up. still have the pass fender to roll out and the drivers side of the engine bay to weld and fill.  ... then its on to patching the floors.

some updated work.

remade floor pans for drivers side and patched all the rust holes.
gutted the a/c out of the air box.
got my new seats... time to make some brackets, and try to get some interior back in the car. I plan on making some covers either out of suede or leather.

anyone have any ideas for the dash.i was thinking mk3 dash but wanted to fix what i have right now and swap it out later.
the origional plastic was cracked and wound up pealing off the whole thing when we started into it. i was thinking i could wrap it or paint it or texture it or something ... idk I haven't decided yet... throw out some ideas, im open to anything. the car is going to be bright yellow so anything wild.
