Hey everyone,
Lately the language used on the forum has gotten a bit out of hand.
If everyone can go back into their posts and edit out the swearing I`d greatly appreciate it. Please don`t just **** it out. Reword your sentence so that profanity is not required.
Thanks all

Tyler. I know I am guilty of using mild profane language. I will do my best to keep my trap clean.

But yes, have there been complaints?

Despite not being one of the complaining parties, thank you Tyler. I deal with language like that enough from the "children" at work (college kids  ) so it's nice to come here and 'talk' with folks without it getting in the way.

IMHO, this is mostly about keeping the joint inclusive to *all* VW diesel fans, and that implies checking at the door overt behavior/language/avatars/topics that might tend to push folks away or make them feel unwelcome.
For instance, if you want classic examples of "behavior" that makes people feel unwelcome just head over to the Vortex and poke around. Sarcasm, ridicule, "mine is bigger than yours" arguments etc, abound... none of which fosters learning from each other, helping one another out, or sharing a mutual love (and in some cases borderline obsession) for these goofy devices.
If your conversation is something you'd show your mother, your significant other, and your kids you're probably doing your part to make this forum the fantastic community it has become.
Again, just my humble opinion..... and yes I can curse as loud as the rest of them, particularly when I'm changing glowplugs. I just tell my daughters "I'm not swearing... really...I'm just calling for help" ;-)

where's the "thumbs up" and "plus one" emoticons when you need them?
Agreed, and well put Vince. I like this forum for the cool/easy-going atmosphere. So many others are full of ignorant people acting tough behind the comfort of their keyboard... ridiculous.

I have said this before but I will back it up now.
I love this place, many of the reasons are just as Vince has pointed out.
We all have a great attitude and even when we do get upset it seems once we are set straight or prove our point the opposing poster will step up to make amends.
I also REALLY like being able to let my 14 yr old son surf the site with out fear of him reading something offensive or saying "Dad.. What does that mean?" while he points to something I would rather him not be seeing.
Anyway guys. Kudos for stepping up and making this place a fun and informative place to be.
I know there are a few of us that spend more time here than anywhere else on the web.

Vincent Waldon, I second that
This is one of the few fourms that you don't have to skim through the nonsence, because there is'nt any.
Great job on everyones part!!!

Hey, you know what they say about fitting and shoes...

And Vince, man, ratcheting box end wrench. Makes the glow plug job a
breeze. Oh man.
This place is awesome all in all. I'm a Vortexer, but usually only cruising the Fox forum, popping into Dasher/Quantum, Fab and Diesel forums to skim for stuff, and I have to say that I'm comfortable here and the Fox subforum over there. More communal, less childish. There is some real maturity to most discussions over here (as there), and innovation and real thinking on some topics.

I agree. I can't stand the vortex, and only check it out when I have to work on those complicated gasoline contraptions.

I too apologize. I try to make a conscious effort but i'm sure the grease monkey in me comes out from time to time.
This is major reason i boycott vortex.
complicated gasoline contraptions
Have you seen a cut away of the injection pumps of these things? Good grief!

I have my own way at getting back at the vortex....
I just charge people there more for parts.
I too, apologize for any offensive language in one of my >100 posts...
I will keep this in mind. I really like the atmosphere here, since I don't have to worry about asking a n00b question.
