Swirl chambers and head gaskets.

I just found a technical bulletin from Nov 1994 which states that on an AAZ when changing from a fiber HG to a metal one, the swirl chambers must be replaced. It then says to just knock out the old ones, clean the surface and tap in the new ones with a soft hammer  :(  . After check how much it protrudes- spec being no more than .07 mm. If more replace, the head . I know it's all a bit silly, but i threw it out for anyone who may care. :cry:

does it have part numbers in it?

Could you post it?

This is really bizzare considering taking them out and not securing them back in seems to lead to the dreaded pre-chamber breakdance.

If i can find someone with a scanner,i will try, but it's basically what i said. Back in the day when we received it, me and the service manager [he had been a mechanic for 30 years] looked at each other and laughed.

when i had my old rabbits head off the pre chambers could be removed by blow compressed air in the chamber, the car still runs fine.
