tach in caddy

I've did searches for info on putting a tach in a 82 caddy. What I've read is all about using a GTI or GTD tach. Well they're not around here (Va.) I have a tach(cluster) from a 82-85 caddy. Can this be adapted? It has 2 plugs 14 wire and a maybe 6 wire plus 2 wire to speedo. Printed on back of tach 4Zyl 4 Takt
