Feeler: 84 Jetta Rolling Body
« on: February 04, 2009, 09:43:57 am »
I have an 84 Jetta body that is currently complete but, I'm about to pull the TD out of it to put in my 82 Jetta.  The 84 has a 5sp tranny.  I'm wondering what I could expect to get out of the body minus a few trim parts.  Any ideas?  Is it worth my effort to part it out?

Thanks,

PS: Its in Lancaster County, PA.

I should have stated that the body is in pretty good condition.  I believe it is an LX.  It has a sunroof.  I haven't tried to open it though.  The only rust that I've noticed is on the rocker panel behind the rear door.

Yeah, going rate is whatever you can get.
Tranny: $100
Body: $200 (depending on condition)

You gotta think, who would want to buy this?

Usually it is a racer project (either SCCA or drag)
and they will have to spend a TON of money to get it right again.

You will make more money parting it,
but will have a lot of more headaches to offset your additional income.

Good luck!
