with my brand new head just finished i just have straight water in there and from the install there is some lube/grease what have you in the coolant from the installation and head preperation. I'm sure i got a bit of assembly lube in the coolant passages by accident.

ya thats what it looked like when i drained the oil. but its seems to be gone now. there is no white smoke except at start up but its like -15 right now so thats normal

i took her for a 30 min spin this morning and the coolent level was full when i started. there were some air bubbles in the system when i started. and the tem when up to 110. when i got home there was no coolent in the holder but there was no white smoke well driving and there is the same amount of oil in the pan. how much coolent can the motor hold?
