I love driving my car through a residential area where the houses are close together, can hear the turbo whistle reflecting off the houses. Makes me smile  :D

I hope no one buys my car so I can still enjoy that from time to time.
Started it yesterday just to hear the turbo..

I'm busting out laughing after getting out of the car, you can hear the turbo spool down

With all the turbo diesel's I've had, I always idle a minute after I park to allow the turbo to spool down w/ good cooled oil so I don't coke the bearings.

I'm wondering if I should use a synthetic oil on my T/D with a t3 after it breaks in as far as turbo protection or is it more a matter of just letting it cool down a little before hut down no matter what kind of oil is in it.  I am wondering if the synthetic cokes less or not.  Do you have any advice on this and this is just a daily driver car.

my two cents- shell rotella 15-40 is  fine. if you are where it's cold, definitely  use the synthetic

My friends love the turbo sound too when i used to drive my work buddies to work in the summer. all our heads out the window 8)  (possibly because of chemical warfare going on in the car but we got to hear the turbo anyways)

synthetic oil is awesome.  it lasts twice as long, and gives you peace of mind that you won't coke the turbo on hard runs.  some synthetics are actually dyno proven to give a few HP... considering the price of rotella 15-40, synthetic oil isn't that much more.

I didn't want to do a muffler on my 1.6TD going into my Chrysler Caravan, but wonderful wife who let me build parts on her kitchen table said she would not be interested in road trips across the lands with the report from the tail ;-)
