I need to increase my Nozzle Knowlage
« on: January 26, 2009, 02:26:09 pm »
With all the choices out there i need some advice on which nozzles to get for my n/a 1.6l buildup. The only mod i plan on doing to the car is a Giles super pump. My plans with the car are like all the others in this fourm, More Power, better milage and the never ending low end torque.  But with a 1.6l na I understand that i won't be making as much power as a turboed engine. So what i need are a set of injector nozzels that will out-perform the stock ones to compensate for the Giles pump and to be more efficent. Now what i don't know is which ones to choose, between the GTD or the Merc nozzles or whatever else in on the market. So whatever experence or general concenus you all have had i'd love to know.                   Thanks, Cambo

Well I've ran both and right now I have the GTD's.

To be honest I cant tell a difference between the 2.

If your getting a Giles pump why now ask him what he recommends and go that way?

Giles is gonna tell you not to use the merc nozzles. Some have on this forum with success. If you do ,peen the precup. The vw precup is not designed for that spray pattern.I would get some Bosch originals.there are some vegi nozzles that are good for performance out there.

I am running GM 6.2L nozzles, they flow better and are cheaper than VW ones.

Do the GM nozzels smoke bad under hard acceleration? Also what is the best, for power and milage, breaking pressure? Truckinwagen,  when you say they flow better, what do you mean? The spray pattern or the amount they could flow?

they can flow lots more fuel, as the motor they were designed for is much bigger, and no, I didn't notice any difference in smoke or idle.

Very interesting.
I need new nozzles and if these are the cheaper way to go?
What do you reckon a set of four would run?
Where did you get yours?
I took my new-er merc nozzles out of my injectors and put back my old OEM ones to protect my new aaz head's pre-cups.

Do the GM nozzles "agree" with the vw pre-cups as well as a factory nozzle?

I have nothing to back this up with as I can't remember where I read it, but I've heard the GM precup is almost identical to the VW precup, whereas the Mercedes one is quite different.

I got the GM ones from RockAuto, but you have to be careful there were two kinds of nozzles, one set for vans and one set for trucks, I think you need the truck ones, but I do know it is the longer set.

and I do think that the GM and VW precups are very similar, the GM ones are just bigger.
