What clutches are everyone using? I want to push between 120hp and 150hp. Are the 8V gas clutches the same as the diesels? I want to do this right the first time and don't want to fry a clutch.
www.clutchnet.comCall them after you are done playing on site and tell them what you want to do as for power levels.
They make a 210mm set up for the small spline (8v) transmissions.
Search for 53 willys build thread, he has pics of thier set up in his thread.
I would recomend exactly what he is using. I have the 8 puck disc and I can slip it from accell at freeway speeds. I dont think that would be a problem with thier 6 puck disc.
I'm using SPEC on my build. 034 motorsports sells them.
Stage3 (complete overkill - the way I wanted) was just over $300. This is a 6-puck sprung carbon deal.
I thought gas and diesel flywheels had different timing marks?

hey Dan i wonder if that place can change out a center spline and install one for an 8v instead of the 16v one i have?
Duane
I doubt it Duane, would prob be cheeper to just buy a new one.
I'll bet you could sell the 16v on the whoretex though.

do gas and diesels have different timing marks? if so, i just figured out why my car wont ever time right. ive got a wheel off of a 92 gas jetta on my diesel. when i swapped my trans i decided to take the 210mm clutch and stuff too.
the gas flywheel i used has different marks on it , I had to use the dial guage to check the pump timeing at tdc diesel flywheel and then install the gas one check the dial guage setting and mark the gas flywheel with a new tdc mark. Make sence??
yes, it makes complete sense. but i dont have a dial inticator. damn i wish i would have known this a couple days ago when i had my tranny out. eh, hell with it, its almost time for a new clutch anyway.
