What would happen if you bought a complete aaz longblock with all accessories and put it into a 1.6td mk2 platform. Good right? Simple simple wiring corrections?
Now how about the turbo. I want 170hp with a k24/k26 hybrid, AAZ, and minimal pump mods. Does the AAZ pump have fuel enrichment? Is it an 8 or 9mm head?
What clutches and transmissions need to be considered..
every thing is prety much plug and play, search for AAZ in mk2 and you should find some results.
Far as I know from searching this site what you do to a 1.6 TD you can do to a 1.9TD
Any 020 will bolt right up transmission wise, so you can re-use the tranny from your 1.6.
Pumps are very very similar and tuning them fuel wise is pretty much the same(once you pilfer the pin from your 1.6 pump).
As for wiring every AZZ swap I've done I have ripped off the AZZ wiring loom and used all the 1.6 wiring.
Clutch whise you might want to ugrade to a 16v pressure plate and make sure your disc is good, I personally went through a pair of stock clutches on my AZZ last summer at 20psi and strong fueling, so an upgrade would be suggested with the power you're looking to make. I am going 6 puck and heavy duty pressure plate but thats overkill.
All in all your looking at the easiest motor swap out there, so just take your time and make sure everything is tight and have fun.

I am going to do the same... 1.9TD in MKII golf with giles pump and gtd nozzles.
I have bought an act 4 puck clutch kit which says not suitable for street use. I didn't think much when I ordered it and now i'm having second thoughts. Is it going to be reallly bad?
