Author Topic: What's the oil ring width for TDI, AZZ rings. (Read 5112 times)

I'm putting together a 1.7 TD using a 1.6 block and 1.7 diesel pistons.
My sleeve caught an oil ring and it snapped
sooo now I need to replace it.
I'm thinking it's not going to be easy to find 1.7 piston rings, the pistons weren't easy to find.
The pistons are 79.98,... 80.1
That's the same diameter as 1st oversize TDI or AZZ rings.

sooo I measured the width of my snapped ring and found it to be .1175" and am wondering what the width of the TDI or AZZ oil ring is.
Also wondering if someone has 1 spare oil ring laying around,... broke a ring and had to get a whole new set or something?,... like I'm going to have to do.

His were 1.6 rings.
Can anyone measure the thickness of an AZZ or TDI oil ring for me?
