« on: January 18, 2009, 04:59:07 pm »
Hi everybody, new to GTD forum, Been thinking about going turbocharged for some time now and have stumbled across this fourm and decided to pick the minds of my fellow VW owners. I am about to install a newly rebuilt 1.6lna into my rabbit and now would be as good a time as any to make the conversion. If anyone has any thoughts, comments or Parts they would be willing to sell, any info wolud be great!

Depending on what your plans for the car are you have several things to consider.

If you want a high performance diesel you need to start with a TD block and head

If you want some extra go at about stock levels you can get the TD parts. the IP and injectors are optional (again, depending on your goals)

or you can get a NA performance pump and have similar power to a typical stock high mileage (250+k kms) TD motor

How crazy do you want to go?

Well in a perfect world, I would like a balence of power and MPG. Now, to reach these goals the path is not set in stone, although i don't plan on taking it to the strip every weekend. If a turbo would give me these wants then thats fine. But if another path would give me the same things then that would be fine as well (ie. Giles super IP, or other means)
