Winter Fuel Recommendations

Hi guys, I just wanted to ask what everyone thought was the best way to prevent #2 diesel from gelling lately.  I am already running a winter blend of #2 diesel with power service additive and I still get gelling.  Should I run some kerosene?  Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks!  I do run my fuel filter in a cold spot by the passenger tire well  but I like it where it is and really don't want to bolt it anywhere else!

wow I'm surprised you are still gelling...usually places that have winter blend dont need anything...I guess there have been some crazy low temps out there huh?
maybe try some just antigel..I think "howes" makes a real strong just antigel..most truck stops have howes..
power service is a "all in one formula" so maybe some thing just for gelling?
I know they have power service 911...but I dont know if it's ok to run the 911 all the time??

Search "Diesel Coctail". I've been posting my gelling issues there too. My car had some bio-blend (20% bio). It may have been a leftover batch from the summer. The biodiesel at my local gas station is not a huge seller. In fact, I think I'm the only one who buys it.

Anyways, it may be the case that your gas station (if you use one regularly more than any other) does not sell enough diesel, and has some leftover summer fuel.

I ended up doing a mix of 1 gal of RUG 87 octane, 14 gallons of diesel, and 3 ounces of the powerservice.

Temps have come up dramatically here in Nashville (up to 50F from 6 F the other nite). So far, I've had no problems.

thanks guys, i was using the white power service bottle but when it got really cold then It was still gelled up.  I will try some of the howes stuff.  I bet it is my fuel filter location.
