well my heater core went

got the hoses joined together so i could at least get the car home.
i've heard of cutting a hole in the plastic to rip the damn thing out and put a new one in... i'm searching like crazy with no luck... i found a post by fatmobile but it only shows a MK1.
does anyone know where to find pics of the 'easy way' or any tips?
my car has a/c... and i think its supposed to be a little bit easier on this car?
thanks!

Unfortunately there are no such shortcuts or "easy way" on an MK2 or 3... btw, which do you have ?
My sig has a how-to for MK3s.... including a few work-arounds from the Bentley that worked for me (for instance, they want you to discharge the A/C.. no thanks!).
well my a/c system is open so thats ok.
i don't really think i'm keeping this car too much longer with this bs. i have a friend giving me an audi 4000 '86 which his family owned since new. and they baby their cars, but not the motor/tranny if you know what i mean  body is mint, but motor (with over 400k) isn't really.
so i just need the mounts for a 4 cyl motor and i'll drop my mTDI right in that thing. i think the power steering will be the toughest thing to get working, and or exhaust
but for now i wouldn't mind ripping my jetta apart just to make life a little easier. i've heard of taking the center console out and wiggling it through? or is that for the MK1?
or just buy one of those ceramic heaters and drive on?
its a '92 jetta btw!
perhaps you could just start taking the dash of if you find your self with like ..4 hours to spare?
I thought... 53 willy's or ... was it ... blkboostedtruck?
Someone had heater core problems and they had a post about it...
i think it was 53 willy's?
Bah, i can't remember but im sure someone will say or remember
What year/model is it? A mk 2 even with AC shouldn't take more than 2-3 hours. If the AC lines aren't connected or can be loosened where they go into the firewall, the whole thing can be out in 1 1/2 hrs tops. If you have a mk 3 ,well you are hosed.
