• hello i was just wandering what are the difference between the TD (AAZ) and the TDI (AHU) engines

• the aaz engine has no intercooler and the ahu engine does - difference is more power and improved mpg apparently.

• Are there any TDI's with a mechanical fuel system from the factory (other than something like the electronics on the AAZ)?

• Not in N. America but I think there were a few in Europe.

• ALL TDIs have electronics. The 1.9 AAZ was the last TD (IDI) engine and it has no electronics at all.
