There is a MK1 A-pillar gauge pod for sale on the Vortex in CA.  Go here for the info.

Not mine and I'm not affiliated with the seller i any way, just passing along an interesting find.

Maybe he's interweb challenged and doesn't know how to research before setting an asking price?

I bought one of those from the orginal Vortex member who made them a coupls of years ago.  I don't think I paid that much though.

I installed it in my '84 with the ill fated 1.5td motor. The fit is pretty good.  The heat gun work he referes to is where the gauge pod part meets the door seal.  I have no plastic forming skills, and the results are somewhat obvious.  But i have no plans of entering it in the county fair. :wink:
