What should i do?
« on: January 05, 2009, 01:39:39 pm »
I just finished putting an AAZ head on my 1.6td, you can see my build (sort of) here
http://vwdiesel.net/phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=16482&start=120

I really want to get it started but i dont have the downpipe done i want to make or exhaust finished...

If i just let it idle up to temp would it be ok to run the little stock downpipe/exhaust? I don't want to ruin my brand new head or put it through any unnecessary restrictions.

My brain tells me i shouldn't even be asking this, of course it will be fine, but my wallet tells me ask the fellas first.

You will be fine with the OE DP for first warm up.  Not a bad idea asking though. Didn't cost ya a dime  :)

i'm running my mTDI with the 1.6 turbo & 1.6 downpipe.  i can't even peg 1000F pre-turbine yet... because the clutch won't hold it.

i'd say don't push it, and it will be fine.

i've considered turning the downpipe upside down and having it come through the hood ;)

(i'll run it till i make a better one, cheers jtanguay)
