Block Steam Holes!
« on: December 29, 2008, 10:46:01 pm »
Is it ok if the steam holes on the block don't line up EXACTLY to the head gasket?

One of my holes i drilled today is slightly covered with the HG. I know the other coolant passages are blocked by the head gasket but they have crush-retainers. I can only hope it's the same story for the steam holes

I should have used a smaller bit i know.  :(  But as far as i know this is okay. I just want to check with you fellas.

I don't think it would be to much of a problem really.

I doubt mine are exactly lined up now that I think about it.

I just used the HG as a template and I doubt I was able to place it in the exact same place on both the block and the head. Their close for sure but....

ah ok
that's reassuring.
I figured it wouldn't be a problem because the coolant holes are blocked by the head gasket... like by a lot.... they go from tear drop to circle
