Differences with pumps and turbos from 86-92?

was there any changes/updates made to injection pumps from 86-92 turbo diesel?

was there any changes/updates made on trubos from 86-92?

I also noticed that many 91/92 td's came with a Garret Turbo i think.
Different then mine anyway. Mine is a KKK, and the one i saw today, i couldnt see the name of it but it looked smaller to me.
What are the adv or disadv. of each?
