Can I use a pump off a 1.9AAZ on a 1.6 N/A? the power steering pump is seized on the jetta...
I'm just in the process of ordering a new pump - the vendor says it fits, so it should..
Perfect, I'll try it this next weekend when i go work on the car again.
I'm quite sure 100% that they are not interchangeable as I just went through this last night .There are many reasons that it won't fit, just have a look at the pully flange offset for 1 example and the pump width. You can use the aaz pump on the 1.6 but only if you change belt system over to the AAZ serpentine.
Hmmmm, I think I found a pump for a 1.6 N/A anyways, just lucked out the neighbourg had an old jetta lol.

You do not have to change the belt system, the pulley on the servo pump is removable and you can fit a 1.6 pulley on it.
The pully's are interchangeable but the pump is not.
Not sure why it worked for me but, I used a pump off of a cabriolet in the junk yard, all I had to do was take the pulley from my old one and put it on the new one, it works great and has for months.
