OIL return line on an AAZ motor.

I am having trouble finding what I need for teh installation in my vanagon. I have the pan with the bung for the oil return line built into it. I located one in The UK through brickwerks. But It will be a while before I can get it. My question is will it hurt me to run it in the stock configuration draining into the block instead?

Not ideal but it will work and there are plenty of them kicking around here with no problems.
I personally wouldn't do one that way but that is me.
The hose isn't that special and I'm sure your local hydraulic fitters could make one for you.
One thing I will say is that the fitting that VW used has a weird sealing face so if you do get one made then you will also need to swap the adapter in the turbo and the sump for ones to suit your pipe as the factory ones may leak due to mis matched sealing faces.
Ask me how I know...
