I'm just in the process of ordering a new pump - the vendor says it fits, so it should..

I'm quite sure 100% that they are not interchangeable as I just went through this last night .There are many reasons that it won't fit, just have a look at the pully flange offset for 1 example and the pump width. You can use the aaz pump on the 1.6 but only if you change belt system over to the AAZ serpentine.

You do not have to change the belt system, the pulley on the servo pump is removable and you can fit a 1.6 pulley on it.

Not sure why it worked for me but, I used a pump off of a cabriolet in the junk yard, all I had to do was take the pulley from my old one and put it on the new one, it works great and has for months.
