1.9 MLS Head Gasket on a 1.6 Mechanical head

so, my head gasket poped due to a brain fart on my part ( forgetting to tighten the block heater freeze plug) and it blew out and i lost all coolant, i have the 1.9 gasket and i am putting it on right now. question is, on the write up for using the rubber oil fill gasket to plug the extra oil drain, do i just need to use 1 piece or 2, one for each side (head and block) heres a link to the thread i am questioning. also does it sit below the gasket or flush with it, or below and above the gasket?

you popped your gasket by overheating ,due to coolant loss?

yea, basically,on my first drive with my new motor, after i did the break in, i went around the block and i heard a loud pop as i was coming up a hill about 500 feet from my driveway, and as i pulled in my temp gauge started going way up, so i shut it off and noticed that i had lost all coolant.(it was at night, so i couldnt have seen all this happen) and i see my block heater dangeling from the cord. plus i didnt do my initial retorque until after this happined so it severly weekened the gasket until the boost pressure finally pushed it out after the next 400 miles.

i just got the head on, i hope the rubber and silicon holds.

I have a 1.6 mech head and 1.9 aaz gasket. I cut and ground to shape a piece of stainless sheetmetal, a large diameter washer,  that was thinner than the mls head gasket so that it fit in the other drainback hole in the headgasket .  I used a hard steel punch ground to a sharp point to make 100 pock marks on each side of the sheet metal piece so that the silicone glue would grab and the piece would not move.

the sheet metal piece was used as filler to change the gap from head gasket thickness of .060"/ 1.5mm to much less about .010" / .5 mm and the rest sealed with ultra silicone  but only to seal the drain back hole and nowhere else on the headgasket

I did not trust that silicone alone would not blow out.

and  I cleaned the head and block spotlessly clean and wiped them with alcohol several times to remove all oil.

yea, everything was just gone thru about 400 miles ago. i talked to my machinist and he said it would be fine, no need to mill it again, so i just used my scraper and cleaned both surfaces and wiped them down with laqor thinner, and hopefully it will be back and running this week. and holding a head gasket this time.haha

That's what I thought - mine wasn't even running terribly warm but I shut it down directly after a long grade in the summer and boiled the coolant in the head. End result was head warp of about double the max. spec.

Please let me know what you find out with this mod. I am not going to finish building the motor until the rest of the car is done. After seeing so much trouble with more than stock boost I am going to stud the engine and attempt the MLS head gasket on my 1.6 Mechanical head turbo diesel. I just really don't want to ever have to pull the head again...well for at least 200,000 miles anyway.
