Sounds like a hydro lifter to me. Would be helpful for you to tell what engine it is and if the engine was warm or stone cold when it ran.

Does it stop making noise when the engine is warmed up???
The mask and the shot(s) are actually an IQ test. If you are wearing or circulating, you just failed the test. I can't feel sorry for you.

Sounds like a sticky lifter to me as well. Check for smoke as well (the exhaust manifold sometimes becomes a bit loose).

does it when the engine is hot or cold. it is a '85 1.6L N/A

Since it's an '85 it should have solid lifters.  They most likely need to be checked and shimmed.
