Hard to find parts
« on: July 12, 2005, 11:55:04 pm »
vwpieces has been on the vortex for awhile.
He's a VW turbo diesel owner from PA and a great seller that comes up with some minty, very hard to find parts.
Well the vortex mods are giving him a hard time, saying he is running a cottage industry.
He loaded some pictures of his pieces on photobucket. I'm sure he has more than this and what he has will change so it will a good place to bookmark and check out from time to time.

Hard to find parts

Thanks for the kind words Craig!! I have been a member on here for short while. Check out my 83 TD Jetta in my sig. That is my latest creation. 4 month total build & been driving it everyday since last fall. My favorite out of all my VW's. It is originally a TD car & I also have the original window sticker for it.

I do have a bunch of diesel parts that have followed me home since the Jetta build.

starters (small housing gear reduction) low use remans
90 amp upper mount alternator from A2 w/ AC
SHH!! I have a few spare TD parts too
intakes w/ the pressure release thingy
A2 intake boot TD with 2 holes for the barbed fittings, oil breather & intake air pressure release
Another intake tube for the ECO TD motor, only the one crankcase breather.
A2 TD airboxes. one has some holes cut init.
oil feed lines
I think I have one A1 oil return line & the matching A1 oil pan. Some pans had the fitting at different angles, hence the different return lines too.
A1 TD pump from a rabbit TD w/ the Auto tranny accelerator bracket.
TD #3&4 hard lines
plug relays
A1 Diesel castiron grank & 40mm castiron water pump pulleys
A2 plastic timing belt cover
A1 metal timing belt cover
A1 castiron T shaped alternator mount, non AC
A1 NEW stamped & welded steel style non AC alternator mount.
A2 alternator belt tensioner pulleys & I can press in a NEW 6002RS bearing for ya

Just a quick list of some diesel specific stuff off the top of my head. Need anything, just ask. I may have it & if not I may just be able to help you locate it. I go to junkyards & VW shows pretty often & can locate just about anything, diesel or not.

What's the number on that injection pump? I think I heard someone say the automatics got the 10mm pump if that is so ... someone is going to want that.
