hello. i'm installing a good sized stereo in my 1983 1.6TD rabbit. it's got the factory low output alternator and i'm sure that i will need more power for the stereo. anyway. what are my options for say 90amp and up alternators?

may I suggest a capacitor as well as the alternator... with a 1 farad cap, you will get better bass and won't kill your car's electrical

... oh and if you are planning on running any more than 150 watts RMS power, use at least 4 ga. ( the smaller the # the bigger the wire )  or you'll toast your amp.

thank you. yeah i've got the 4guage. and will need to get a cap. the stereo consists of 4 polk momo 6.5" component speakers (woofer/tweeters) run by a polk momo 4 channel 400W amp and 1 polk momo 10" run by a polk momo 500w mono amp. and the headunit is the alpine ida x-100.
