well since it's already bad you could try wd-40 or pentrant of some sort. did you try wiggling clockwise to counter clock wise?
They are a very easy removal. I did it today on a bad GP. They shouldn't be siezed or anything. You can strip allum easily. try leaving penetrating oil on it for a while and then give it a wiggle.
is changing a dead GP supposed to fix a check engine light issue?
I changed a dead one but the check engine light is still on.

Thanks for the reply I will try more wd and other tyes of oil this weekend , like i say it does move but stops at 3/8 turn,.
I talked to a old freind who was a vw service rep. and he said that if it pulls the treads out that they would heil-ciol a set back in and that it worked find because the plug seals at the tip.
once the plug is changed you have to get the code cleared to get the check eng. lite off, i belive.

glow plug removal....

worst case you'll have to heli-coil it.....but with patience it will come free....you may have to take a very small diameter drill bit (1/16) and drill beside the plug straight through the threads but only about 3/8 to 1/2 deep....this will allow penetrant to actually reach the threads....drill at least two holes opposite each other....squirt your lube in and work the plug back and forth carefully...it also helps to tap the plug from side to side using a punch (easy here) .....I've
always
been able to get stuck or broken bolts out using this method....it has never let me down....good luck!!!
