Thought I would update this thread in case anyone stumbles across this in the archives.
I had the crank machined for tdi pulley and polished by a guy in Manotick. He did a great job and had it done the next day.
I dropped the block off at Bells Corners Machine Shop in Nepean. They told me it would be cleaned up and micced in a couple days and they would have it bored within two weeks. Three weeks later they still hadn't touched it. It was finally finished 6 weeks after I dropped it off.
I took the head into Hodge's Service Center on Bronson Ave. Dave who runs their machine shop seems good. He is doing a full resurfacing with the precups removed and valve job. I dropped it off last week and I should have it back this week. I also had him order some total seal rings for me
