I'm looking for one or two stock steel wheels to fit my '81 Caddy. The cheaper the better, not bent. We bounced off a boulder tonight that was hiding in the bushes on some old mining road, now the wheel has a hairlip.

might check thesamba.com for something near you!
jetta stock steelies have a different off set then from the westmoreland rabbits do! i like the jetta ones better because the center does not stick out past the lip of the rim!
but if you can't find anything close to you ? i do have some rabbit/caddy rims in the garage allready demounted and in decent silver paint shape IIRC?

That might be because one rim is 4.5" wide and he other is 5.5".
I started a 13" steelys and hubcaps topic on the vortex and learned alot.
Why some will fit the big hubcaps and some will only accept the small chrome centercaps.

FWIW, I'd go on Craigslist and get some 14" wheels from an A2 or 3. Way better handling, the 13" wheels are all over the place. Post a want ad on there. Good luck.

I have a set of 13" steelies.
Don't know what they came off of though. I think i even have all the VW center caps for them.

Not worried about handling, just need to replace what I've ruined (and the one that the PO bent on the other side) and not pay lots of $$ for nice wheels.
zukgod - what do you want for a pair, shipped to 93545?
Thanks

I'm going to, but it'd be nice to have wheels that I know haven't been beat back to being "close to straight". I want to keep the beaten wheels for spares for trips into Saline Valley.

Pay attention to Fatmobile. I found out the hard way: there are 2 different widths. Early Rabbits are 4.5 wide, some later applications (Fox?, Golf?, etc) used rims that were 5.5 wide. They look the same on the face, but are in fact different widths.
On the upside, the width should be stamped on the face to make ID easy.
If you need some 4.5 inchers, I should have some. Shipping will be a little high considering what they're worth. I'd do $30 pair, assuming I've got some good ones. Shipping would almost be that much from TN.

Yea I had to go look - they're 4.5s.
Unfortunately for me, it's cheaper to ship them than drive the 160 miles round trip to the nearest junkyard that has a pile of Rabbits (especially when I factor in the time value).

It's the mk 1 Jetta that's got the wider version of the same rim. Hubcaps don't cross from one rim to the other. Got a set here (5.5") with worn out snows, look pretty rough but still holding air. Got 3 out of 4 1984 Jetta hubcaps too, they're a two piece deal where the small centre uses the little clips in the middle of the wheel and sits over the outer ring to hold it on.

I'll have to see if that's a possibility.
They have tires on them so I would need to take them to the tire store to get dismounted ($) then figure out shipping cost.
