wanted - flange for k14 turbo???
« on: November 03, 2008, 09:27:25 am »
I'm trying to either get 1. a fatter downpipe for my 92 eco jetta or 2. get a flange for the outlet side of my K14 turbo to make a fatter pipe with.

Does anyone have any sources for either?

I've tried emailing himni-racing for the flange but they havent responded once I told them I had a K14.

thanks!

My K14 has the standard square T3/T4 flange and I got a mild steel version for 10 bucks or so from a10ha10ha on eBay.

Have never seen the more rectangular K14 flange however... if that's which one you have ?

hmm, I guess I ought to measure the flange bolt spread and see what it is.
I thought the numbers would be enough to get what I need.
thanks!

For the VW stock flanged K14 you won't find separate flanges anywhere.
That's because the trapezidial flange was only ever used on TD Volkswagens.
So you have to have one made, or (preferrably) use a different turbo. The K14 is not that great after all :)

He's talking about the exhaust side not the inlet.

Itīs the same exhaust flange on the K24 the later Audis use.

I bought one when I turboed my old Iveco truck  :D And when I made a new downpipe for my mazda.

I beg to differ. Why do you say it is not so great?

I'm located near Philadelphia, PA, USA.
If this can be mailed cheap - let me know what you want for it and provide the bolt spread dimensions of the flange so I can measure to make sure its the right thing.
thanks !

OOPS - while I'll need a gasket, what I'm seeking is a FLANGE that I can weld up my own exhaust with.

Well, basically just because it's so small that you can't make any real power with it. For a stock engine of course, or very lightly tuned, it's rather good.
