New to the site, can anyone fill me in on why you cannot freshen up some 1.6L td intake and exhaust valves on a valve grinding machine, it is stated in the vw manual that you cannot perform this proceedure on these valves. :shock:

Yes it does say that... good catch !! I think gasser intakes are exempt, but the rest are hand lap only.
For starters some if not all of of the exhaust valves are sodium-filled... so dangerous if they break open on the machine.
Dunno why they worry about the diesel intakes... perhaps someone else will chime in.
