Howdy gang,
It is apple time around here and the wasserboxer in our syncro finally developed the dreaded headgasket problem so it is out of service.
So off to plan two
we have a homemade cider press and for the last 25+years my buddy and I have pressed at least 500 gallons of apple juice(best year we did 1600 gals-No BS)
we split the juice with our families and the people who we get the apples from
the gals freeze and bottle as fresh juice and some of the juice is left to turn into hard cider
This year I had to use the mighty Golf as a apple cart.
I could not carry all the apples in the buckets so we spread a tarp in the back and dumped the apples in .
a bit of work but the apples just spill out the rear door and back into the buckets to be spread on out sorting/cleaning table then into the machine.
We get somewhere around 50 gal per hr.

the muffler was scraping a bit on the way home.
One thing I found out was the PO had installed hatch struts from a GMC Yukon and the hatch didn't open all the way.
The new correct strut made a lot of difference.
just figured you might get a kick seeing what plan 2 was
