Giles and I are planning a K14 group buy. These are for brand new, original KKK turbos. Not rebuilt, not overhauled, not made in China. Brand new OEM. They are the mk3 AAZ style.
They will bolt on to any diesel exhaust manifold except for the K03 manifold and some TDIs. You will need to work on a custom oil return or get one from the dealer. You may need to change the intake boot diameter depending on what turbo you have now.
Pricing will be staggared based on how many turbos are purchased. Discount starts when we get 5 people on board. Otherwise they are regular price, $1000.
Pricing is as follows:1-5 people - $1000
6-10 people - $950
11-20 people - $900
21-49 people - $850
We plan to run the group buy until Dec 1/08. A $200 deposit will be required at that time and the we will place the order. Turbos will then be ready either that week, or within a few weeks depending on how many turbos our supplier has.
Please vote for if you are interested in the group buy with the above terms. Voting does not mean you are commited, we will run another, final poll later. This one is just to gauge interest. Please do not select "YES" unless you are serious about getting a new turbo, and will have the money to pay for it. (Or your significant other for Christmas

I believe it has a slightly larger compressor wheel, but I'm not 100% on that
It's my personal turbo of choice. Spools up nice and quick and can reliably handle 15 psi all day long. I'm pretty sure there are quite a few people running 20 psi on this turbo as well.
That is if I liked turbos of course :lol:

Quick spool sounds nice, but 20 PSI is anemic.
Will it handle 25+ PSI?
My K24 seems to do OK there.
My opinion on turbo lag is its just poor driver technique. :wink:

No doubt the 14 is a sweet turbo for sure.
Not enough air on the top end for me though. I tend to be a tad lead footed. :twisted:

I can't think of a better turbo for a daily driver. Maybe a T2 but it's basically the same.
Is there any other turbos you would rather see? We can't get new T2 or T3s and we are awaiting info on the K24. We can get them rebuilt but not new.

The $300 for the rebuilt, balanced and painted K03 I have is much more in my price range...

hey nothing wrong with a K03 mine spools up to 15psi with just adding a 1.6 boost pin no messing with the waste gate either and is real fun to drive !
great low end power too! but i still can't wait to try my K14 out and feel the difference between them!

Port matched head, 10mm pump with AAZ cam plate, gov mod.
NEW injectors via Duane. K24 center section and hot sire with an k26 cold side, 3" turbo back exhaust.
Under heavy accell I'm @ 27psi with no smoke 1100* max. Freeway cruising it runs about 550-600* @ 5-7 psi.
It's a little slow to spool off the line but seems to work fine.
Personally I think a k14 over a full k26 would be the best of both worlds. Not really enough to lift heads but lots of CFM from about 1500 rpm to 6K.

I have a K14 (from Giles) on my gasser ( :oops: ) rabbit project car.
In the few seconds I allowed it to, it made 32 psi due to a stuck wastegate. (I left the car outside for a year with just an open downpipe. oops) Boost, of course, came on very early. These are excellent turbos. Having full power from 2000 rpm beats the crap out of making slightly better power way up high with a soggy mid range. It's like getting rear ended when you get it all in that low!
