I recently pulled my engine and tranny out to change the tranny due to the ring gear spitting out teeth through the bell housing. So I put in a ACN tranny along with a 4 puck clutch  So I took it out for a ride and mashed it in second and It pulled slightly and up near 5000 rpm it starts to surge. I have been noticing a loss in power gradually. But it used to be nutless untill 3000 and then the turbo would kick in and it would get up really well and take off. now its just nutless. Also when it surges it over fuels and black smoke goes everywere. My wastegate is permanetly shut so it shouldnt be opening and i know i have fuel so?

?? Burnt turbo? I checked the play and its not bad so maybe impeller blades sheared off? anyways thanks for you help!

Yea there's something definitely wrong with that. I'm guessing your car has the K24 turbo that takes forever to spool, but damn I love the sound it makes going into 4k rpm!!!
maybe you need to re-time the engine? Something really small could be throwing it off. If you don't have a boost gauge, get one and check that out. Check your exhaust system for restriction too.
I found the problem... When I was putting the engine back in I accidently moved the "boost controller" to the factory boost rating. So the surging was from the valve opening and closing. Thanks for comments anyways.
gotta love those quick and easy fixes
