I replaced the rotor head asm on my friends 1.6 IP (also replaced all seals, cam plate, rollers, etc)
I am wondering if replacing the rotor head requires calibration of pump on a test bench? What do they do, shim the delivery valves?

When I rebuilt my pump, I did not replace the rotor head since it seemed fine (and I did not have one), and the pump works great, has no issues.

My friends car sounds way advanced, even though static timing is right, I've had the pump out several times now, gettin sick of it.

also, when using a 1.9 camplate in a 1.6 pump, does timing need to be retarded slightly? What is recommended?

changing the head requires calibration. A healthier head will give more fuel then a worn head.

You can try and do it on the car, but it's best on a bench.

Not sure about the AAZ camplate regarding timing
