EDIT: Apparently I'm not good with words, at all. I'd like to see pictures of all your engine bays. Especially you guys with intercoolers and all those horrible things. And I definitly need pictures of those snazzy NAs
Thanks

I think I know what I'm doing with mine.
I just want to see some pictures or dyno sheets of these engines. A lot of them sounds pretty serious

why don't you jot down what you had in mind and we'll do improvements from there?

I think this is what you're asking. Recently removed the 1.7 KY na from my 1990 T25 transporter. Replaced it a revamped 1.9 na industrial. As it was a stationary motor turning a water pump it never had to turn more than 3000 rpms, there fore it had a tiny 8 mm head. Had my pump guy go through the pump [which was like new inside] and shove on a 10 mm head, new seals and a vanagon governor and top. Much more power now although because my tach is not quite right [using the serp setup rather than the v-belt , with a different alternator ], it seems to want to pull higher revs, but can't confirm. I may just have to get an 11 mm !

Exactly. Pictures too though please

Sorry I should have said in the original post not just Giles pumps but anyone who's upping their power.
My NA is just about dead and I have a TD motor sitting in the hatch. I'm
almost tempted to drop it in as a TD and terrorize the neighborhood. Looking for some motivation I guess

hmm guess it's about time I post some more pictures of the Scirocco, or just send Giles some. Will work on it. Boost back up to 20 psi is on the list to do this week before the next autocross. If it survives the abuse I hope to have it back on the dyno in a month. How soon y'all want the numbers?
It puked the head gasket last spring on the dyno.
at 3500 RPM was 100 hp and 120 ft lbs torque. Would like to know what it has once it gets into the power band.

Tyler,
Thanks for posting my pics up above, too busy here, ya know. As far as efficiency of the air/water setup, I don’t have any hard numbers, but at the speeds of autocross, 30mph to 60 mph, not enough airflow for an air/air cooler it seems. My TDi I can’t touch the pipes after a few runs and you can feel the power drop. The 1.6TD you can put your hand on the black pipe to the intake, not so much on the silver pipe going into the A/W cooler. With 3 to 6 runs, the water doesn’t get too hot, only slightly warm at the reservoir.
