does anyone know if a toyota td injector pump works on a 1980 vw rabbit diesel?

I don't think it will or it wont run properly.

I have a Toy pump at home and the cam plate in it is WAY different then the VW cam.

I didn't really see a difference in the internals other than that.

Depending what motor it's for, it's more then likely going to overfuel the car and you'll have black smoke, hanging RPMs and all sorts of other fun stuff.

What's wrong with your pump?

It's still a little 8mm pump and the cam plate doesnt have as much lift as the VW cam.

Or at least the one I have is.

It came off a 84 Toyota 2.4ltr.

Until you get a true TD pump I would just go ahead and turbo it with your Na pump.

Quite a bit. To the point you should add an EGT gauge as well to make sure you don't get it to toasty.

What you will find is it will smoke off idle until the turbo spools up at that point the smoke will clean up.

OR you can turn the pump down so it doesn't smoke off idle but it sure wont be as fun to drive.
