WTB: i need AOP transaxel

please if you have and can ship, or are near CT then i can pick up, i need AOP transmission for my 91 n/a either respond or email at deepriverbluesband at yahoo dot com  thanks

I posted on your Vortex link too. Just reminding, in case the fine folks here don't have a spare diesel tranny kicking around.

I've got that AVX sitting in killingworth at my parents place. Tested and known to be good. It's similar (not exactly the same) as your AOP. The AOP and AGS (the same geared trans), only came on the diesel, and are a bit hard to come by. Earlier Rabbit transmisions have similar and better gearing, but do not bolt into the MKII Golf and Jetta.

The AVX has the same gearing as the AOP, except for the final drive which is different (3.93 in the AOP vs. 4.25 in te AVX). They are interchangeable, and the speedo gears can be swapped without issue to compensate for the difference in final drive. Basically, it's bolt and go, provided you swap the speedo gear, and you may have to re-wire the backup switch if your car came equipped with an upshift light in the cluster (the backup light switches are different on cars with the upshift light).

Others in the house can chime in to confirm (or deny:but unlikely) these assertions.
