1986 Diesel Golf 4/s, Ohio. cln body, needs trans, re-ring

Putting this feeler out for my 1986 4dr Golf.  It's alpine white with a minty blue interior. It has all the A/C system there as well as power steering. There are only a few minor rust spots but otherwise no real rot anywhere on the car.  It was given to me several years ago by a friend who had parked it in a garage several years previous b/c he had purchased a new TDI Golf.  I basically put a battery in it and new belts on it and it fired right up. Since then I've completely torn out the dash to replace the heater core and deal with all the missing foam, so it has great heat. From the PO it has a pretty new head and injection pump.  During my ownership the 020 has self destructed due to the typical 5th gear loosing lubrication...which I'm sure was my fault.  Also the bottom end of the motor could use an overhaul as it has a fair amount of blowby.  It never had any starting issues due to the blowby even in really cold weather it just lacked power.

Right the motor and tranny are out. I pulled them a while ago b/c the tranny was shot and I intended on rebulding the bottom end, but just never got to it.  That's the bad news, so it would require a diesel geared 020 and ringjob get get it faithfully on the road.  It ran good for a while and was my daily at the time.

Right now I just have too many cars and my diesel interest is satisfied by my Quantum TD at the moment.

I'd sell it as a diesel shell minus the motor and trans, or I'd sell it with the motor.  Let's say $800 as a shell and $1000 with the motor. I could also throw in an extra qestionable 020 for parts if desired.

This would need to be towed, but could handle being put on a dolly just fine.

Now for the pics.....

Look at the pretty new injection pump.
