Gents, in my browsing of CL for stuff I came across two Rabbit diesels for $1200. One is a 79 the other is an 81. Thoughts? Are these worth it? How hard are parts to find? Any maintenance things I need to know? Are special oils needed? Any advice? Pull the trigger or not? I haven't contacted the guy yet cause I wanted to find out about them first. Goal is to rebuild the engine/transmission, whatever else is needed and use it as a DD

sure offer 1000 bucks? anything that gets 50mpg is worth saving!
i been looking for a round headlight or pre 80 2 door rabbit?
