A/C Connector Pipes
« on: September 30, 2008, 05:37:53 pm »
I need to buy the two metal pipes/hoses that connect to the Sanden SD709 Compressor.  This is for a 1988 VW Vanagon GL and the part numbers are:
253-260-701B and 253-260-708

As I have converted my Vanagon to a 1.9TD the original hoses have to be modified but I need the two connectors for the rebuilt Sanden compressor I am installing.

Thanks for any assistance or suggestions

Duane,

Sorry, I took a few pictures but have not learned how to post pictures to this site.   Anyway, if you look at Go Westy Part # 253-260-797A you will see the Sanden SD709 AC compressor.  Note the text below:  This compressor does not have screw-on type fittings.  The hose ends that fit this compressor have no threads.  The hoses are held with a bracket that is attached to the back of compressor by one bolt.

I have this bracket but do not have the two connector hoses.

If you still need some pictures send me your email address and I will email them from my aol account where I can include the pictures.

Thanks for your response.

so thats the mk3/4 style then.  the mk2 is the screw on type fittings.

you might find that you need to 'splice' the compressor end to the vanagon pipes though.  a little brazing and then clean the pipes VERY well to make sure no crap is in the system.
