I have a 1.6TD out of a QTD, code CY with solid lifters. I want a hydraulic TD block for a future build.
The crank nose will need to be machined to accept a TDI sprocket, as the keyway is worn loose enough that the sprocket wobbles AAZ-style, and in the accident that resulted in me acquiring the car it came out of the water pump took the brunt of the hit, shearing off it's lower two mounting bolts in the block.
As far as I can tell, there isn't any damage to the block itself.
I'd be up for a trade, my block for a bare hydraulic TD block, or option two is my whole longblock (block, crank, pistons, head, cam, cam cover) for your good/worn out shortblock (block, crank, pistons/rods).
If I strip it, I'll take it someplace and have them magnaflux it to check for cracks, to make sure the other side of the deal is getting an even exchange. Otherwise, I'll just load it up to swap as it sits, you can even have the torque converter if you want it.
Alternately, I'm up for offers on the engine/parts (IP, mounting bracket and exhaust manifold already gone on to other projects), and offers of buying outright a hydraulic block from someone.
