1.6TD short block MF mechanical for sale. Price and pics
« on: September 27, 2008, 09:08:27 pm »
In the next week or so I will have a MF code 1.6TD mechanical short block ready to sell.  Standard pistons, no groove/ rim / lip at the top of the cylinders.  No scuffing on the walls that I can see so far.  No valve impacts on the pistons, they all look good.  Oil squirters are all there.
Internals look to be in very good condition.  Does not look like it has every been apart.  When I finish getting it ready and cleaned up a little, I will get some photo's up.  Gonna be heavy.  Shipping might get pricey if it goes much off the east coast.  I live 10 min. off I-95 if anyone is thinking pickup.  Gonna wait to post the price until I see if anything looks dicked up on it while I finish stripping it down.

Got it apart and took some pictures.  Looks like it had some faulty injectors because the head had some melt going on over two of the pistons.  Two of the pistons have some aluminum on them from the head.  One of them looks like it took more heat then the other.  Small amount of melt where the spray hits the piston.  Everything turns over without binding or restriction.  Walls dont look bad,  if I was doing the engine I would probably hone and re-ring.  What you see is what you get.  TD oil pan, block, pistons, crank, rods, IM shaft and pulley-pulley has some chips on it. Vacume pump may be junk, just did not feel like pulling it off. Oil pump etc.
$250 plus shipping.

If you weren't clear across the country from me I'd seriously consider having you ship it to me.

Winter is coming!  All I want is to be a shiney rebuild motor(with ceramic coated pistons and a nice new giles pump)!  Wont you please give me a home?  Perhaps a 92 gti to live in
