Not Kragen/Spectre crap-aisle garbage, these are from Autofab and are used to "hold truck hoods on at 100+ mph in the desert". Look here for a description and install instructions:

I bought them for a project, then realized my Vanagon dosen't even have a hood (OK, I'm kidding - these were for an IH Scout) and they're a bit over the top for the Grandpa Caddy. They're $35 + shipping for a pair from Autofab. I'll let them go for $30 including shipping in the US, maybe a bit more for shipping to Canada or wherever.

The pair I'm selling are blue (I asked for black!):
