Hi, i had to recently swap my accesory transmision from a V belt to a 6PK from AAZ, in order to fit the AC compressor, and now the new alternator from the AAZ is speenig faster because it has a samller pulley, and as a result the Rpm reading is much higher on the dash,
can the dash be calibrated or the only way is to fabricate a new 6PK pulley with the correct diameter?
If you're exceptionally good with electronics i've heard of geniuses making a converter chip where it recieves the frequency from the W and then just multiplies or divides it accordingly. But ... there is an enormous amount of know-how involved with that.
That sounds a heck of a lot easier
Will the W post on the alternator work with the gas Tach? It looks as If I have one on my alternator.
you can find instructions on how to convert gasser tachs to work on the W signal
THAT is what i was refering to with the electronics and what not.
I'm trying to make an aftermarket tach convert to a W signal.
If you have a VDO one people on here have definately posted invaluble guides on converting them.
I was just going to use the dakota signal converter box looked a lot easier.
