VW powered tractor

I saw this tractor today and thought it was pretty cool. It's powered by a 1.6 VW Diesel motor and transmission and the cab is made from the rear halves of two VW Rabbits. The guy was getting out of VWs after 17 years and invited me down to take what I wanted before he called the scrap dealer to take it all away. Too bad the tractor and the nice Caddy he has stored away weren't part of the deal. I came away with a trailer load of good parts though and a going back to strip the 3 late 80's Jettas that are left.

Very nice... using the back Rabbit hatch is an especially nice touch.
Get a couple of farmers together with a welder and a couple of old cars and they could probably invent a machine that finds Bin Laden.

Thanks for posting pics of this.
Any pics of how it bolts to the drive shaft?

Apparently he welded the differential so both drive shafts turn together and the drive shaft is bolted to one of the axle flanges. Not sure about the hydraulic pump though. He said he hasn't used it in years because it doesn't really have enough power and isn't even sure if the motor will still turn over. Unfortunately, it's not for sale.
