i'm selling my car! pictured to the left <<<

the interior has been more or less taken out, but i can include bits and pieces and will help you to find whatever you need to finish it.

car is solid, but i've discovered the passenger floor underpadding was damp and the rust has started from the inside out. i will weld up any places and FIX THE FLOORS CORRECTLY if you are intersted in buying this. i bought this car as a NO RUST TEXAS CAR, so the rust i found i would say is minor, and i caught it early enough to fix it completely.

i'm pulling out the motor that is in it, and will include a rebuildable 1.5L diesel. needs head gasket and will be good to go, i drove it a year or so until the gasket let go. great milage on these motors.

i'd also be up for helping someone get the car on the road if they can't do it themselves... let me know what your situation is.

i want to sell this to a fellow diesel nut, i'll be taking a loss on it, i just want to see someone fix it and drive it. i won't sell it otherwise (haven't posted it on the vortex). will let it go for $500, less than half of what i paid.   this IS a solid body to start a project, but like all mkI projects, will need work.

haha. i'm insane what can i say? i have come to terms with my addiction.

basically... they are all good cars, but i need to thin out the herd. circumstances change and instead of being home with a big backyard and time to work on the vw's... i will now possibly be moving up to toronto for work.

the GTI is in the worst shape of them all... so if i was to pick only one to sell, that would be it, although i am currently daily driving it. the blacktie... its a great little car and i'd hate to see it ruined, so i will sell it to a diesel nut, but thats about it, otherwise i will fix it up and sell it to a friend or save it for one of my little brothers. the caddy... long term endevour. i have a new project now too that you didn't even mention!  :lol:

i need to focus on one and not four. thats my biggest problem.

will accept trades. hey maybe i could trade it to giles in exchange for his time with an inj. pump  :lol:

Shucks, if I didnt already have a Rocco sitting in the garage that I'm not driving I'd take it.  But, I gotta sell my Camaro because I'm poor, but I need to fix the Rocco before I can sell the Camaro, but I need money for parts for the Rocco... it's just a big "catch-22".   :roll:

Whatever you do, DONT junk it.

by 'junk it' i mean, part the GTI.. cut off what i need from the unibody, and send the rest for scrap metal. it would be a shell only... everything taken off.  wouldn't do that to the diesel. :cry:

Any chance you have the cold start advance knob thing off of that Jetta? The threaded part on the end of mine is broken so the knob part won't really go on all that well. I'm not really sure if the handle part can be replaced seperate of the cable or not....but let me know if you have that still. Thanks

you know i took that knob/cable off with full intention of using it in the '82, but i haven't been able to find it.  :lol:

the black tie is back on the road! got me up to toronto this morning and its running nice and healthy. holes in the floor patched, replaced axles, front suspension, brakes all around, e-brake cables, yadda yadda. was up working on it until 2am last night, but it got me here this morning and thats what counts.  

car REALLY isn't for sale now. its my #1 again now

i'd just like to thank all of you for not buying my rabbit.
i have been driving it again for a couple months now and selling it would have been a huge mistake!  :lol:

however! you still have a chance to make me cry like a little girl when i realize i shouldn't have sold this.
