Where is the best place to buy a VE pump reseal kit?
« on: September 13, 2008, 04:18:37 pm »
I have seen several kits online but would prefer to go with one that a majority of people have used sucessfully. I have an 84 non turbo VE pump that needs a reseal ( Not leaking yet but as a precaution) Could someone point me in the right direction?

I'd only get an actual Bosch kit.  Likely there is a place local to you that can get you the kit.  They usually run $15-$20.

For your pump either a Bosch # DGK 121 or DGK 126 kit will work... I see a guy on eBay right now if you can't find them locally  (search for "vw diesel").

The Bosch kits don't include front seals or other specialty wear items like throttle bushings... the guy on eBay at the moment *is* including the front seal.

I got a kit from Germany (ebay) for 14€ posted. its a Turkish made kit. (came inside a plastic sealed bag)
I wasn't satisfied so I searched for a Bosch repair center in my area, there is one 7Km from me...
I got the original Bosch kit, from Bosch themselves for 11€... the next morning!

but yeah, it doesn't bring the front seal nor the bushing :(

the seals themselves don't seem to differ, but for less, I could get the original

Thanks all for the help. I do have a local Bosch pump service station but the owner is a comlpete tool. I called and he has the kit but will not sell it to me. He wants me to bring the pump in so HE can reseal it and charge me $400.00. The pump is not leaking as of yet but I know it's only a matter of time.

This Giles fellow, I hear alot of good things about him. What is his contact info?

Thanks!
