?s about 1.6NA, 1.6TD, and AAZ injectors&pumps,BAR, &
« on: September 07, 2008, 12:21:57 pm »
Hi -
Ok I am somewhat new at all of this but I love these VWs. I guess I have diesel in my blood, anyway

I really do not know where to go to find out the info that I need for what I need so I am writing you all. Thanks for your time!

I live in lonely Houston where I have only ran into one other VW diesel freak so my  home base is not that loud. Here goes.

I have an AAZ 1.9TD that has 155 bar injectors - is this the correct bar?
My friend told me that I would best be served with dual stage or dual rate
or is it dual spring injectors for this engine. Is this correct? Where might I go to locate some and what or how do they help? - Maybe do you know of a Canadian site or forum that might know of some - beings that most of you all are from up north?

My 91 Jetta now has a AAZ 1.9 TD engine with the origianl 1.6TD ECO diesel injection pump and 155 BAR injectors.

Can these pumps and injectors do justice for the 1.9TD?

The 1.6NA usually uses what bar for injectors?
The 1.6TD usually uses what bar for injectors?
and the 1.9NA or 1.9TD?

Can and would it be advisable to get some higher bar injectors? Could I adjust the output of the pump to handle higher bar injectors?

Does a larger injection pump head ( 10mm, 11mm, etc ) translate to more possible quantity of fuel distributed and or does it mean higher pressures or both and is it really necessary?

I just have seen these items advertised on Volkswaparts.com and am just wondering what I can do to help out my anemic 1.9TD?  What about a higher output injection pump rotor? What about the cam-plate what do these translate into?

*** Is there a good web site that might have info on different VW injector part numbers - bar ratings - and applications?

+++Is there a good tester to test the output pressure of my injector pump and also pop test the injectors with?

I hate to bombard you with all of these questions but this is what I don't know.
Thanks
Stephen

Welcome

if you have the stock injectors on your aaz they are already dual spring.
155Bar is the stock pressure I believe, I have one by the computer and it says 150... so I guess I'm wrong
tell me the reference of the injectors and I'll tell you where they came from (028130XXX)

an eco pump sucks, instead of incrementing fueling with boost pressure, it only compensates for altitude. try to get a true TD top with the LDA device (any golf/jetta TD non eco)
your pump already has the possibility to fuel around 100 more horsies :D but the governor doesn't let her. and thats good because you want a reliable smoke free engine ;)

Injector Reference

My 155 bar injectors that are now in the 1.9TD engine came out of the 1.6TD ECO 91 original diesel engine in the Jetta - are they dual rate or single rate? That was my question because I want dual rate but I think I have single rate. Are the dual rate injectors longer or does that translate to mean anything - of course I could take them apart to see?

The reference number that I see on the injector is

068130202D

a pic. of your set up would help!
1.6TD inj. were single spring and 155bar will work well in your set up!
if you have a 1.9 injection pump then get some AAZ injectors!
if you have a 1.6 pump just use the single spring injectors you will be fine
talk to (burn your money) tyler here on the forum he may still have some AAZ inj. for sale and he can drop them off at Giles if need be?

those injectors were stock on 1V engines that equipped golfs between 90-92
the "GTD" ones were R instead of D
so.. single spring

why do you want the double spring? apart from being a little less noisy there isn't a big difference.
all the performance build I recall use the single spring setup.
